Unlock Better Business Results with Practical Tools for Inclusive Employee and Customer Experiences
Understand diversity, remove barriers, strengthen wellbeing and the bottom line
Hidden barriers keep your employees from thriving and performing, and your customers from buying
Many employees face hidden barriers at work—whether due to neurodivergence, invisible disabilities, LGBTQ+ identities, or cultural backgrounds—feeling misunderstood or pressured to hide their true selves to fit into workplace expectations.
Without the right tools and awareness, these employees experience isolation, stress, burnout, and miss out on career opportunities, which impacts both their well-being and business performance.
Moreover, a lack of understanding around diversity in customer interactions leads to missed opportunities, lower satisfaction, and weakened relationships with key customer segments.
The following quotes illustrate the emotional and professional toll of workplaces that lack diversity awareness and inclusive culture - and the consequences of not addressing these hidden barriers.

Being autistic has cost me dearly
“Being part of an organisation where colleagues, employees, and even I didn’t understand what it means to be autistic, has cost me dearly—alcohol abuse, heart problems, my marriage, stomach ulcers, obesity, and constant fatigue. I haven’t been the parent I should have been.
The consequences have been catastrophic.
I didn’t realise what was happening… that it was a battle I couldn’t win because I was fighting something no one understood”
Christoffer Hagen, HR Director
To minimise my workload, I don’t share my personal life at work
“When colleagues discuss what they did over the weekend with their families, I often steer clear. I’m not ashamed at all, but because people don’t expect it, I often get reactions like: 'Did you say SHE? You don’t LOOK gay? HOW did you make kids? WHEN did you know? Have you been gay this WHOLE time?
The talk is no longer about weekend family activities. Now I am forced to educate about my sexuality and 'people like us’ and all I wanted was to grab a coffee. I don’t have the energy for that role, so to minimise my own workload, I just avoid sharing my life with my colleagues”
Bettina, Global Head of Operational Excellence
I can’t risk my colleagues meeting the real me. It would end my career
“I cried from anxiety when I got the invitation to our management team-building. It was in a forest. We’d be sleeping in tents. Get woken up at night to solve problems and “grow together”. I ended up faking an illness to avoid going because at work, people love working with me. I’m extroverted, fun and energetic. I’m seen as an overachiever.
But that’s 'work-me. I have ADHD and can’t risk my colleagues seeing the real me. I can’t be social 24/7. They don’t need to see me tired. When my energy is drained, I lose patience FAST. I get angry and everything shows on my face. Going on that trip would have destroyed my work relations and ended my career.”
Rebecca, Change Management Director
For 19 years I’ve worn a mask and not come to work as myself
“I’ve worked here for 19 years and NEVER told ANYONE that I’m dyslexic and have ADHD. After we implemented Disability Awareness Training others started sharing things about themselves, their families, and so on.
So yesterday, I told them. Today is the first day in 19 years that I’m coming to work as myself, without having to wear a mask and pretend to be someone else.

InklusioNordic addresses these challenges in two key ways:
Through qualitative and quantitative studies, we are mapping barriers to inclusion and accessibility in both employee and customer interactions, providing actionable insights and easily implementable video training. This enables businesses to foster an inclusive culture that supports employee well-being and drives business growth.
In collaboration with expert partners representing diverse communities, we are building a community and learning platform, the InclusionNordic Hub, where members can share, learn, and grow through expert-led training, exclusive cross-sector networking, and access to a rich library of recorded content. The platform fosters collaboration through events, webinars, and panel discussions, empowering organisations across the Nordics to drive inclusive change both within their teams and in their customer relationships.

Understanding diversity and creating inclusive environments - is not just the right thing to do
It’s a strategic business opportunity that most businesses completely overlook:
1 in 4 people have a hidden disability
20% of the population are neurodivergent
7-10% of the population identify as LGBTQIA+
15-20% of Scandinavia's population comes from a non-Scandinavian background.
Common to all these groups is that they are your colleague, your customer, your family and friends.
Their experience of the world is impacted by the way the world meets and handles their diversity, and this influences both their customer experience and employee wellbeing.
By understanding their perspectives and identifying commonalities and areas for improvement, your company will build stronger relationships, enhance wellbeing, and unlock your full business potential.
Understanding diversity is the key to creating an inclusive culture that make a real difference, not just for a few, but for well over 25 % of the people surrounding you.
Make the effort - it’s well worth it!

Let’s unite to make your workplace,
your customer experience and the world more inclusive
